GREATGOLD.FM (12/10/2015) – THIS MONTH we’re giving Extra Plays of Hit Favorites from the 1950s thru the 1990s and early 2000s by Bands with December Born Members and Solo Singers with December Birthdates. Our mix this month also includes Christmas Songs mixed in with our usual Classic Hit Oldies library, PLUS our Spotlight on 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees continues into December.

greatgold_rock-and-pop_brunette_snowfall-back_850x400CURRENT ROCK HALL NOMINEES: Chicago, Yes, The Cars, Deep Purple, Steve Miller, Janet Jackson, Chaka Khan, Cheap Trick, The Spinners, N.W.A., Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, Chic, Los Lobos, and The J.B.s (or JB’s). After votes are tabulated, five of these nominees will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, located in Cleveland, Ohio in the Spring of 2016. Fan voting ends December 8, 2015. (See story about and photos of 2016 RockHall nominees at McStreamy.com.)

This year’s five inductees will be celebrated at the annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 8 at New York City’s Barclays Center.  Tickets for the event go on sale in February, while a select number of pre-sale tickets will be available exclusively to hall of fame members.  A television broadcast of the ceremony will be aired on HBO in the spring of 2016.

Artists are eligible for consideration of this music industry honor 25 years after the release of their first record. 2016’s inductees were determined by a combination of the hall of fame’s foundation — which consists of international artists, historians and other industry players — and online fan voters.
